St. Anne Parishioners,
In this strangely unsettling time of COVID-19, first and foremost, we must never allow our prayer to stop. Remember my challenge to you last weekend? In our prayer and in our worship, let the Lord get his fill of you! Give him the drink he longs for...your very presence and your listening ear!
That said, our worship will look a whole lot different for a while, it seems. As of this Friday, March 20th, public celebrations of Mass, Stations of the Cross, and communal Penance Rites, have been canceled in the Diocese of Tulsa as we seek to enforce social distancing to keep the virus from spreading (please see Bishop's decree and other important documents to the right). It is the responsible thing to do as a community founded on love of God and love of neighbor. Likewise, all other parish activities are canceled for the foreseeable future.
We will try to keep things as normal as possible. Fr. Sean and I will still be celebrating daily Masses, likely in our house chapel, and the intentions listed in the bulletin will still be offered. We will make every attempt to air these Masses on Facebook so that you can join in virtually, making a Spiritual Communion. Weekend Mass will also be live-streamed on Facebook, and Dante will still provide music for our worship experience. Pay attention to our social media sources, parish website and our Facebook page for any updates or changes that may occur.
Above all, please take seriously the advice of the CDC and national and local authorities. At the same time, if you are able, continue to patronize local businesses through take-out and delivery services offered. Finally, please look out for neighbors in need and if the church can help at all, we are here for them and for you. Let us pray for the healing of the nations and for one another.
God bless you!
